An Agile Mindset is a set of thoughts, beliefs and values embracing a state where we accept the need for constant learning and openness to changing needs. A Mindset is a set of thoughts and beliefs forming the way we respond to different situations and make sense of the world around us. Agile embraces the belief that we learn more as we go and can always improve, and thus a proper mindset is key.
In Carole S. Dweck’s book, Mindset, she defines the differences between a Fixed Mindset and Growth Mindset. A fixed mindset is a belief where intelligence, skill and the way we work cannot be changed. A Growth Mindset is one embracing learning, taking on wisdom based on experience, and is consistent with an Agile Mindset.
